The trading week ending Friday 1st August at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), recorded equity turnover of TZS 30.02 billion (+45.54% week-on-week), bond turnover of TZS 15.52 billion (-85.46%), and a 1.98% rise in total market capitalisation.

Equity Turnover and Volume

Equity turnover reached TZS 30.02 billion, up 45.54% from the previous week’s TZS 20.63 billion. Share volume decreased to 14.49 million from 16.67 million, a -13.07% change.

CRDB, TBL, and KCB dominated activity with 10.18 million, 2.09 million, and 1.10 million shares, respectively, together accounting for about 92% of total volume.

Total market capitalisation stood at TZS 21,144.24 billion at the end of Week 31 2025, up 1.98% from TZS 20,733.93 billion a week earlier.

Domestic market capitalisation increased 2.94% to TZS 13,841.04 billion from TZS 13,445.23 billion.

Bond Market

Bond turnover totalled TZS 15.52 billion, down -85.46% from Week 30’s TZS 106.73 billion.

Government securities provided essentially all activity with multiple 20- and 25-year issues changing hands during the week; corporate bonds contributed small volumes spread across 3- and 5-year notes.

Indexes

Four of the five DSE benchmarks advanced. The Banks, Finance & Investment Index (BI) led with +6.25%, supported by strong gains in CRDB (+13.00%) and NICO (+13.89%).

The Commercial Services Index (CS) rose +3.20%, the Tanzania Share Index (TSI) added +2.94%, and the All-Share Index (DSEI) increased +1.98%, while the Industrial & Allied Index (IA) declined -1.07%.
