The three-day trading week ending Friday, 4th April 2025, at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) saw a significant decline in market activity, with turnover dropping by 64.91%. JHL led the gainers with a 10.80% increase in its stock price, while KCB was the biggest loser, declining by -5.81%.

Turnover and Volume

During Week 14 of 2025, the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) recorded a total turnover of TZS 13,093.20 million from 4,124,349 shares traded across 3,033 deals. This represents a -64.91% decrease in turnover compared to TZS 37,321.20 million recorded in Week 13, while trading volume decreased by -51.18% from 8,448,959 shares traded the previous week.

Market Capitalization

At the end of Week 14, 2025, the total market capitalization at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) stood at TZS 19,210.14 billion, reflecting a 0.01% increase from TZS 19,207.40 billion recorded in Week 13. Meanwhile, domestic market capitalization increased to TZS 12,969.82 billion, marking a 0.20% rise from TZS 12,943.90 billion in the previous week.

Bond Market

The bond market recorded a total turnover of TZS 48.50 billion across 37 deals during Week 14 of 2025, reflecting a 20.01% increase compared to TZS 40.41 billion in Week 13. Trading activity was dominated by 20-year and 25-year bonds, which accounted for the majority of the turnover.

The total turnover for corporate bonds reached TZS 35.00 million, with activity recorded on Wednesday and Thursday.

Indexes

Week 14 of 2025 saw an overall positive performance across indices at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE). The Banks, Finance & Investment Index (BI) was the best performer, rising by 0.49%, followed by the Tanzania Share Index (TSI), which increased by 0.20%. The All Share Index (DSEI) recorded a slight gain of 0.01%, while the Industrial & Allied Index (IA) and the Commercial Services Index (CS) remained unchanged.

Stock Performances
