New Telecom Operator Launches in Tanzania to Expand Rural Connectivity and Boost Key Sectors

Paratus Group and Green Telecom have launched Paratus Tanzania to provide high-quality connectivity services. The venture focuses on boosting key sectors such as tourism, mining, and healthcare while expanding access to underserved areas.

Paratus Group, a pan-African telecommunications provider, has partnered with Tanzania’s Green Telecom to launch Paratus Tanzania.

The new venture aims to deliver high-quality connectivity services across the country, focusing on rural and underserved areas while targeting key sectors such as tourism, mining, healthcare, NGOs, and the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP).

The Managing Director of Paratus Tanzania, Said Alli, highlighted the opportunities in the tourism sector, which has seen a 25% increase in visitor numbers over the past year. He also noted that the joint venture will create many new jobs over the next year while focusing on other key industries such as mining, healthcare, and NGOs.

Martin Cox, Chief Commercial Officer of Paratus Group, emphasized the company’s readiness to provide reliable connectivity solutions across Tanzania. He explained that the partnership with Green Telecom, combined with Paratus’s technical expertise and infrastructure, will enable the company to reach underserved areas with high-quality connectivity and backup solutions.

Green Telecom, established in 2013, initially focused on providing technology solutions for mobile network operators (MNOs) before expanding into connectivity and telecom network services. The company specializes in offering tailored solutions for managing and integrating clients’ network services.

Paratus Group operates in 15 African countries and provides satellite services in over 30. The company has invested heavily in infrastructure, including the East-to-West Africa fiber route and an express route connecting Africa to the rest of the world.
