Tanzania GDP Growth 2018 UNCTAD

UNCTAD, the main body of the United Nations (UN) dealing with trade, investment, and development issues had recently released its Statistical Tables On The Least Developed Countries – 2018, estimating a GDP growth for Tanzania in 2018 of 6.8%.

The growth is consistent with the GDP growth for Tanzania in 2018 estimated by the AfDB of 6.7%.

This is more than the GDP growth of 6.5% partially estimated for 2017 and less than the actual GDP growth of 7.0% in 2016.

However, the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics of Tanzania (NBS) data for 2017 indicate an actual GDP growth of +7.1% in 2017.

In the same report, UNCTAD indicates that FDI inflow to Tanzania slowed down in 2017, reaching USD 1,180.4 Million versus USD 1,365.4 Million in 2016.
