Tanzania and Comoros to Strengthen Bilateral Relations and Resume Flight Connection

Tanzania and the Comoros will continue strengthening bilateral relations with focus on business, health and education.

The assurance was given by both countries’ leaders during a recent visit of the Comorian President, Azali Assoumani, to Tanzania.

Furthermore, Precision Air will resume flights from Dar es Salaam to Hahaya in the Comoros in August 2016.

The airline will operate 3 flights per week, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Robert Owusu, Commercial Director of Precision Air, explained that flights between Dar es Salaam and Hahaya will further strengthen the trade relations between the countries.

“There is high movement of traders between Dar es Salaam and Hahaya. We are certain our flight will be a perfect product for them as we offer reliability and convenience to their business. Our tickets normally include free 23 kg of check –in luggage which is convenient offer for traders who are travelling with their goods“, Owusu clarifies.

Precision Air suspended its flights to Hahaya in 2014 while undergoing a rationalization of its routes.

However, the airline later decided to resume its flights between Tanzania and the Comoros due to high demand for the route.

Tanzania Comoros Trade Summit

The first Tanzania Comoros Trade Summit was held on 23rd April 2015. It aimed at promoting trade initiatives to improve business environment, formalize trade and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

The 2015 Trade Summit gathered political leaders and businessman from both countries to discuss business and investment opportunities in Tanzania and the Comoros.

The summit is expected to be held on annual basis.
