The four-day trading week ending on Friday, 20th September 2024, at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) saw a significant drop in both turnover and trading volume, while market capitalization increased.

Turnover and Volume

During Week 38 of 2024, the DSE recorded a total turnover of TZS 1,027.82 million from 1,460,640 shares traded in 1,263 deals.

This represents a decrease of -64.88% in total turnover and -82.73% in volume traded compared to the previous week, which saw a turnover of TZS 2,926.89 million from 8,460,355 shares traded.

Market Capitalization

At the close of Week 38 of 2024, the total market capitalization and domestic market capitalization of listed shares at the DSE amounted to TZS 17,616.58 billion and TZS 12,226.30 billion, respectively.

This reflects an increase of 0.66% in total market capitalization and 0.02% in domestic capitalization compared to the previous week’s close figures of TZS 17,500.65 billion and TZS 12,223.30 billion.

Bond Market

During week 38 of 2024, the bond market recorded transactions worth TZS 42.74 billion, representing a decrease of -57.20% compared to TZS 99.88 billion the previous week.
